Many incidents that had occurred within the last number of months had gone unreported, police say.
THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay police say they’re receiving reports of a series of thefts of catalytic converters from vehicles.
The Thunder Bay Police Service issued a news release on Thursday, alerting the public of the recent thefts.
The complaints about the thefts were forwarded to the police service’s Break and Enter and Robbery (BEAR) unit, which led to officers learning that many other incidents had gone unreported.
The incidents happened at various locations, targeting both business and residential addresses, throughout the autumn months, police said.
Police are encouraging anyone who has been the victim of a catalytic converter theft to file an official report, and asking anyone who may have home or business surveillance footage to bring it forward.
Anyone looking to file a report can call police at (807) 684-1200 ext.7500.
