Thunder Bay Museum is opening a new exhibit on May 3.
The Thunder Bay Museum is proud to announce that we have opened a new exhibit in our third floor antechamber titled: Collecting History: Recent Acquisitions at the Thunder Bay Museum.
The exhibit will be on display from May 3, 2022 until Sept. 11, 2022. This exhibit highlights a selection of artifacts that have come into our collection over the past several years and explains a little about how and why the Museum collects, and what happens to your donations after they are received.
The Thunder Bay Museum’s collection has grown into what it is today thanks to the generous donations of individuals and organizations. The collection is comprised of many fascinating artifacts and documents of all shapes and sizes that collectively help us interpret the history of Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario.
Exhibits Curator Sydney Belluz said of the exhibit, “Most museums only exhibit a fraction of the artifacts and archives they preserve for study and appreciation by future generations. This makes exhibits like this a great opportunity to show the public the interesting and historically significant objects the Museum has.”
If you or your organization are interested in donating objects, documents, media, or other types of items to the Thunder Bay Museum please visit the following website for how to do so: https://www.thunderbaymuseum.com/artifacts-archives/making-a-donation/
