Mailbox theft investigation leads to numerous charges 20210618

DRYDEN – A 22-year-old Dryden resident is facing numerous charges following a mailbox theft investigation.

According to Dryden Police Service, officers attended the area of 300 St. Charles Street on Thursday around 10 a.m. in response to a report of a male subject trespassing in the area, who was also a suspect in the theft of mail from local mailboxes.

Police say the suspect, who was known to police as wanted for several outstanding charges fled to the wooded area upon police arrival.

Police set up containment and after a short foot chase, the suspect was arrested.

Jonathon Ross Hendrickson, 22, was charged with two counts of resisting peace officer, three counts of possession of forged document with intent, making forged document, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and two counts of failure to comply with probation order.

An outstanding arrest warrant was also executed for an assault with a weapon incident from May 23 in Dryden.

Hendrickson has been remanded into custody following a bail hearing on Friday.
