KENORA, Ont. — The Northwestern Health Unit reports an increasing number of COVID-19 cases in its Kenora health hub.
A dozen new cases were reported Wednesday alone, bringing the active case count in the Kenora area to 31.
Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation, which is within the Kenora hub, disclosed on Tuesday that it had 19 active COVID-19 cases, and that contact tracing was underway at that time.
According to a social media post by the First Nation, additional COVID testing for community members will take place on Friday.
A spokesperson could not immediately be reached for comment on the situation.
The number of cases in the NWHU’s entire service area stood at 72 on Wednesday, including 17 in the Fort Frances health hub and 12 in the Emo hub.
